I have a 3rd generation IPOD Nano and I'm trying to convert Microsoft Recorded TV (DVR-MS format) to play on my IPOD. I can get Druid to convert to MPEG-4, but ITUNES won't recognize the format when I try to upload the video. I've successfully converted this type of video with other software (i.e. Videora, etc) and got ITUNES to load it as a movie, but the video and audio do not match up... it's horrible. The reviews on Druid are very positive and I'm excited that this might be the answer, but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've tried all 3 IPOD settings available on Druid. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help! Brad

I installed the app but when I go into settings to set the proper directory path there is no done or ok button to get out of settings. I have to use ctrl alt del to end the druid 1.0 process. Its like the bottom half of the settings window is missing. Escape doesnt work either. Is this a bug in the new version. I have never used this program before. Thanks

I run Windows vista in 1900x1200 resolution and use the extra large icon setting to keep it readable. Unfortunately this makes your application bigger than you designed and as a result the buttons are almost completely out of the window. It would be very helpful if the window could be resized rather than the current fixed size. Otherwise it's a great app, thanks!

In converting a half-hour HDTV show I'm getting file sizes of over 25GB, even on the leanest IPOD setting. Is this correct? Won't fit on my Ipod touch then since it has only 16gb flash memory.

No, It sounds as though you are looking at the original dvr-ms file rather than the output file. You should expect an hour long program to be approx 300Mb.

Yes, I'm working towards that. In the meantime, have you tried the scheduler option? That goes part of the way to what you're looking for. You can set transcoding to happen later.

I wish I could. The transcoder seems to only map part of the meta-data (title only) to the output file. I will keep working on it though and hopefully improve on this.

The program freezes when it tries to convert movies from premium channels like HBO, Showtime. Any way around this?

Hi, One suggestion is to run checkdisk (with repair option enabled) and then defrag on your recording hard-drive. I know of an issue where freezing my occur when the files are large and fragmented. This has resolved the issue. Also, download the latest version of Druid. The encoder improves all the time.

This is great...
Trying not to be picky but can you add an iPhone specific setting (480x320 128k audio)?

I tried a couple of other ways to do this, but they all ended up with out-of-sync audio and video. This one is also the most customized to doing exactly what I'm looking to do: take my media center stuff to my IPod.
My major problem is that it will only ever do one video at a time. I check the boxes for all the things that I want to convert, but after it's done the first one, it just hangs. At this point none of the UI works (the settings button, the list of media center videos, etc.) except the "X" button at the top. The only thing I can do is close the app.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!

Thanks for your positive feedback. To answer your question, on this occasion I unknowingly uploaded a build that did not index through each recording correctly. This was not the intended version. Sorry but the current version should not have the problem.

Hi, Just confirming the current version dies on HD DVR-MS (Pal, Australia) too. Are you still actively developing this product? It's great for SD content.
Also, A preset for 640x360 (widescreen) would also be great as the new iPods will automatically letterbox or crop WS video.

Hello Paraic Mc Donagh
Fine tool - I have been looking for some tool like this for a long time. But what I need is support for Apple TV with its screen resolution until 1280x720 (MPEG-4 or H.264).
In this release we can only choose support for Video iPod. What do you mean, do you implement Apple TV support for us? This would be great.
Very Good job!!!
Thanks a lot, Roger

Nice so far. One feature I would like to see is the ability to specify custom resolutions. My Archos 604 needs 480x272.
